Tour of Uppsala

Don't forget that we're having a tour of Uppsala on Wednesday stopping off at some projects currently happening and meeting those behind them for some inspiration. The schedule for the tour looks like this:

  • 10:15 Meet at the Cathedral entrance (this has changed from the schedule)
  • 10:30 Pocket Park Fyrisån
  • 11:00 Swappis
  • 12:00 Lunch at Valegården - bring some cash (40kr) as they don't accept cards
  • 13:00 Valegården Permaculture Garden
  • 14:30 Uppsala Kommun
  • 16:00 Tour ends

Remember to bring a bicycle! If you can't, let us know tomorrow and we'll sort something out.

Finally...

The lecture tomorrow (link) before lunch demonstrates what we'll be working towards in the workshop in the afternoon.

Email us if you have any questions.

Videos from todays class plus other resources…

After some technical difficulties we promised to provide links to the two videos that could/should provide some inspiration for project ideas...

Per Cromwell - Anatomy of Virality

Yes Men Fix the World - full length movie.

Here's a short blog post about goals and objectives that sum up the last couple of slides from today. And for more inspirational projects that Dougald Hine (the guest lecturer from Monday) has been involved in check out Spacemakers.

We've still not received a link to the facebook group of the Class Event and we couldn't find anything when we searched. Whoever was responsible, send us an email and we'll share the facebook page here on the Course Portal.

Thanks for today, positive steps made in the Class Event.

Welcome to SDPMC!

Hej!

Welcome to Sustainable Development: Project Management & Communication!

If you haven't already found them, the Welcome Letter and a Prelimary Schedule are located just about this post under the 'Schedule and Info' drop down menu. Both give you more information about the course and the reading material for those that want to buy some books in advance.

Although the course doesn't offically start until the 2nd September we encourage all students to attend the CEMUS Open Lecture with Dougald Hine on Monday 1st Sept between 18-20 in the Eva Netzelius lecture hall located down the steps as you enter Blåsenhus. Here's a link to the Dark Mountain Manifesto, some of Dougalds earlier work and an interesting read that will get you thinking about the issues that we'll talk about and hopefully deal with as part of the course.

We're looking forward to meeting you all next week!

Influence the CEMUS Sustainability Festival!

All,

This semester we're branching away from the usual format for the Project Fair with more involvement from other CEMUS courses and our extended network. We need some input from you to enable all of us to get the most out of the day as well as people who would like to be more involved with the organising of certain aspects.

Please take the time to fill out the this small survey, all contributions are important.

Thanks

CeMuse and Uppsala Event Calendar

All,

I checked with Joel regarding contacting CeMuse for publishing articles, he said to send an email to editors@cemuse.com (if there's no response then I have personal email addresses for people involved).

With regard to advertising your events, I mentioned earlier that there is an Uppsala Event Calender - or I should say there WAS an Uppsala Event Calender. It looks pretty defunct as it was open for all to upload/advertise events and seems to have been forgotten about. But I did think about What's Up Uppsala - a free magazine where it could be possible to publish your events and articles. Check it out and let me know how it goes.

Happy Easter!

Ben
