The lecture will be held at Valegården. Also, bring food to share so we can have a pot-luck lunch. After lunch we will continue our work in the garden at Valegården.
Wednesday, August 7; 10:15-12:00
Author and permaculture designer Patrick Whitefield will be with us via skype. Patrick will introduce himself and his work briefly, after which we have the honor to ask all the questions our hearts desire. Make sure you come ready with questions for Patrick about gardening, financial permaculture, farm-scale design, etc. Take advantage of this chance! After lunch feel free to stay to watch the documentaries How Cuba Survived Peak Oil and Farming With Nature.

Week 4
On Monday, July 30 we will have our first meeting after the break. Anyone interested in getting feedback about their project designs/ideas is welcome to join Tor Kihlberg (Biochar researcher), Daniel Bergquist, Claudia French (Transition Town Uppsala and course lecturer) and I at the following address:
Valhallagatan 14 // 75334 UPPSALA
We will be there from 10:00 to 14:00. Attendence is optional.
Other than the supervision we will check out Tor and Daniel's vertical gardens, gravity-fed irrigation systems, urine separating toilets which are used to activate biochar, etc. etc. Bring some food to share if you feel like it.
On Tuesday, July 31 we will have an optional event - a permablitz! This means that we as a group will work together to accomplish some projects at a local permaculture inspired garden.
We will be taking bus 805 (schedule here) from Uppsala central station at 09:55. It arrives at the stop 'Bladåker vägskäl' at 10:33. This is really the only bus option that we have, so make sure you are on time! Cash is not accepted in the bus. Tickets can be bought via credit card or at the machines around the central station. Either way, get there early so you don't miss the chance to participate in this really fun event! The address we will be at is Rungarns Säteri 13; 74012 KNUTBY. We will eat lunch there (made from the garden's veggies), but feel free to bring anything you might want to share.
On Wednesday, August 1 we have a special skype lecturer, Patrick Whitefield, author of two of our course textbooks, and renowned permaculture teacher. This one is not to miss! This is held at the regular classroom, Sydney Alrutz, starting at 10. The format of the lecture is a Q&A, so come with questions that you have for one of the foremost experts on the issues which we discuss during our class.
In the afternoon, from 13:00-15:30 we will show two short documentaries (How Cuba Survived Peak Oil and Farming with Nature) followed by a discussion. This, like all documentary showings, is optional.
