Links from Dougald’s lecture

Hi everyone,

Thanks for a great lecture today! Here are links to some of the things Dougald talked about:

  • Dougald's website: www.dougald.nu
  • School of Everything: http://schoolofeverything.com
  • Spacemakers: http://www.spacemakers.info
  • The Dark Mountain Project: http://dark-mountain.net

You should be receiving feedback on your examination II today or tomorrow. The examinor Sara Andersson has provided both individual feedback and some general comments on the papers.

Also, don't forget to hand in your reflections on Friday.

See you next week for our final session! We have planned to go out to a nation for some food after class for anyone who would like to join.

Reading for next week + individual reflection

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your presentations on Monday, I had a great time hearing about your projects.

Next week, we have been so lucky to get Dougald Hine to come and speak to us. We've posted readings and two shorter TED talks for you to watch, find it under the "Literature" tab, and "Module 3".

Remember to write you individual reflection on the change project by Friday May 22nd. Instructions are under the "Examination" tab.

Best,

Week of action and workshop guide!

Hi folks!

Exciting to take part of your ideation processes today, and we're very much looking forward to hearing about your prototype testing during the presentations next monday. Remember to be inqusitive about everything. This project is really about getting a sense of implementation and scaling of projects, learning from both your own process and from the efforts of your peers.

Under the tab IDEO Worshop Guides on this page you'll find the guides we've been using during the workprocess (Part I from April 27th and Part II from May 4th). You'll also find more extensive workshop and reading material from IDEO. Might be useful as a source of inspiration and support during the week.

Good luck and have fun!

All the best

Ingrid & Alexis

Lecture tomorrow & meet-up next week

Hi everyone!

Thanks for today everyone - was great to see you collaborating in the LEGO game... Now, some important information:

  1. Tomorrow: Lecture with Sean Westcott is in Norrland I (at Geocentrum) tomorrow, 11.15 - 13.00. NB! Note change of classroom!
  2. Need help with formulating your research question or pointers on where to find literature for examination task II? Or maybe some inspiration on how to write a good research paper? On Wednesday, April 8th, 10.15-12.00 at CEMUS, we'll have a meet-up where we can discuss these issues. Welcome!

IMPORTANT info about Workshop on April 20th: Bring a draft of your examination task II paper to the workshop on April 20th. Don't worry if it's not perfect - the idea is to help each other improve. Your paper does not have to be finished, but it needs to be coherent so that somebody else can read it. More instructions on this will come when we're closer to the workshop.

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask us.

Next week: dinner and presentations

Hi everyone!

Remember that the next few sessions of the course we will have field trip presentations after the lectures, so the classes will last until 20.00. Please plan for this! (Bring an extra snack 🙂 )

Felix and Tobias (the presenters for next week) will be joining us for dinner after the course on Monday, and it would be great if you would like to come. I have booked some tables at V-dala for us.

Now it's the weekend - a great time to think about your research question for Task II! This is your chance to deepen your knowledge in your area of interest, so don't leave it to the last minute.

Happy weekend,

ingrid & Alexis

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for contributing to a great lecture yesterday!

Now you can see the list of course books under the "Literature" tab. They will be available for reading in the CEMUS Library from this afternoon. Start deciding which book you want to read so you plenty of time to read it.

The make-up task for the Workshop on March 2nd is posted (under "Examination"). Deadline February 20th.

Unfortunately, we have been delayed in the reading of your papers - we will post them over the weekend. Apologies for this!

Don't forget: ASC Movie Night in CEMUS Library, 18.30 on March 12th. We'll be watching  No Impact Man, the story of a NYC man and his family trying to have no impact on the environment for a  year. Is it possible? We'll see...
